The City of San Bernardino, in collaboration with California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), is set to unveil a groundbreaking initiative that promises to reshape the landscape for entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Entrepreneurial Resource Center (ERC), spearheaded by CSUSB’s Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE), stands as a testament to the power of strategic partnerships in fostering economic growth through entrepreneurship.

Why is San Bernardino A Hub of Innovation and Support?

Located at the heart of downtown San Bernardino, Studio D’s newly established co-working and business hub will house the ERC. The ERC aims to become a dynamic and easily accessible resource center for existing and aspiring entrepreneurs with a central location at 330 N. D Street.

Comprehensive Support Ecosystem

The ERC emerges as a comprehensive ecosystem, bringing together numerous entrepreneurial support programs and organizations under one roof. From tailored training sessions to personalized business counseling, the center will empower entrepreneurs with the tools needed for success. The Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (IESBDC) and the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center (IEWBC) are integral to the ERC, amplifying its impact.

Commitment to Success and Catalyst for Downtown Revitalization

The City of San Bernardino and CSUSB have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the ERC’s success. The city has invested $1.87 million over three years, and CSUSB has contributed $1.9 million through business assistance programs, underlining the magnitude of their dedication. Together, these investments will make the ERC fully operational by October 2023.

The ERC not only addresses the entrepreneurial needs of San Bernardino but also serves as a driving force in revitalizing its downtown area. This partnership between the University and the city will bring the academic prowess of CSUSB’s IECE to the heart of San Bernardino, spurring activity and progress.

A Prosperous Future with a Forward Vision

As the ERC nears its launch, the excitement within San Bernardino’s entrepreneurial community is palpable. Mayor Helen Tran praises the partnership for investing in the entrepreneurial spirit of the city’s residents. Amanda Hernandez, San Bernardino Economic Development Manager, emphasizes the ERC’s dynamic ecosystem and its potential to empower entrepreneurs with essential tools for success.

Longstanding Legacy of Support

The IECE, housed at CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, brings a robust legacy of business assistance programs spanning over two decades. With a remarkable track record of serving more than 173,000 business owners and creating an economic impact exceeding $534 million, the IECE’s involvement underscores the ERC’s potential to drive transformative change.

Conclusion – Empowering Growth Through Entrepreneurship

The launch of San Bernardino’s Entrepreneurial Resource Center represents the convergence of vision, dedication, and collaboration. With a mission to empower growth through entrepreneurship, this innovative initiative embodies the spirit of progress and promises a brighter and more prosperous future for the city and its vibrant community of entrepreneurs.
