Iteris secures $2.5M contract to streamline traffic flow in San Bernardino Valley.

Iteris has been awarded a $2.5 million contract to monitor and maintain the San Bernardino Valley Coordinated Traffic Signal System. Iteris has been providing on-call support since 2017, which involves training agency staff, managing corridor upgrade implementation, designing improvements, and procuring equipment. A Smart County Master Plan for the entirety of San Bernardino County will cover all 24 cities, defining and evaluating a broad spectrum of technology to serve as a roadmap for implementing a Smart County strategy.

Grant Program Offers Relief to Small Businesses Hit by Winter Storms in San Bernardino

San Bernardino County has launched a Mountain Small Business Grant Program to help businesses impacted by recent snowstorms.

  • Businesses and nonprofits with 50 or fewer employees are eligible for a one-time $3,000 grant. Companies with more than 50 but fewer than 500 employees can get $15,000 to help with repairs and recovery efforts.
  • To qualify for the grant, businesses must have been open and operating before Feb. 27 and have a physical, brick-and-mortar location in the affected unincorporated San Bernardino Mountains used by employees and customers.

Moreno Valley and UC Riverside Join Together to Support Local Entrepreneurs

The City of Moreno Valley and the University of California, Riverside, have partnered to provide entrepreneurial workshops and services to Moreno Valley residents.’ The partnership will establish the Business and Employment Resource Center as an epicenter for cultivating local entrepreneurs in Moreno Valley and further boost the business community in the area. The program will provide specialized mentorship, access to technical expertise, and incubation facilities to the City of Moreno Valley’s entrepreneurs and innovation-based businesses.

Rapid Bus Lane Project from Pomona to Inland Empire got $87M in Funding. The West Valley Connector Bus Rapid Transit project is a 19-mile route connecting Pomona to Rancho Cucamonga in San Bernardino County, California, with a stop at the Ontario International Airport. The project construction begins this summer, taking around two years to complete, and will feature a bus-only lane that gets priority during rush hour, making the commute time shorter than on conventional bus lines.

State of the City Victorville 2023 Thriving Economy Welcomes Over 200 Commercial Businesses

In the State of the City 2023 Victorville, Mayor Gloria Garcia presented the city’s progress in several key areas, including public safety, fiscal health, economic development, homelessness, and parks and recreation. Victorville’s economy is thriving, with over 200 commercial businesses contributing to its growth, including industry leaders at the Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA). New commercial developments, such as Sprouts Farmers Market and Carmax, are expected to open soon, further attracting businesses and residents to the city.

Understanding the March 2023 Consumer Price Index in Riverside Area

Prices remained unchanged over the past two months but increased by 4.6 percent from a year ago. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for March 2023 in the Riverside area indicates that prices were unchanged over the past two months but had increased by 4.6 percent from a year ago. Food prices increased while energy prices declined. Prices for all items, less food, and energy increased.
